The Billingham Team Parish is an exciting new single-parish team ministry, formed at Easter 2013. A new team of clergy was licensed in January 2014, and exciting developments are taking place. We see this as a once in a generation opportunity to re-shape mission and ministry in Billingham as we seek to grow together and serve the whole community – a population of 38,000 with five churches and a committed team of lay people.

Our churches

The area of the team parish covers the whole of the town of Billingham east of the A19, including the outlying communities of Port Clarence, Newton Bewley and Cowpen Bewley. It also includes large industrial areas situated on the eastern outskirts and along the River Tees, as well as a considerable area of former salt flats stretching toward Greatham and Hartlepool.

The former churches of Billingham and Wolviston are all parish churches of the Billingham Team Parish:

  • St Aidan, Billingham, situated on Tintern Avenue near Billingham town centre
  • St Cuthbert, Billingham, situated on Billingham Green
  • St Luke, Billingham, situated on Low Grange Avenue in the Low Grange estate
  • St Mary Magdalene, Billingham, situated on White House Road in the Wolviston Court estate
  • St Peter, in the village of Wolviston
