The churches of Norton, Roseworth and Hardwick have supported each other and worked together for a number of years, calling themselves the ‘Epiphany’ locality. Conversations began in 2012 about widening that cooperation to include the Newtown, central Stockton and Portrack areas, and taking it to the next level of commitment. Parallel discussions are also ongoing about deeper working relationships with partner churches of other denominations.

Locality CovenantOur vision is to build a renewed mission-focused ethos, support each other practically, share resources, and learn and grow together. We want to stay close to God’s vision for our churches, as they serve our communities. It is our conviction that working together is a powerful witness to God’s love, and the best way to fulfil our calling.

As a step along the journey, when the new parish clergy of Norton were licensed, our parishes signed a Locality Covenant which now shapes our common life. We meet, pray and work together, and are actively exploring how we can build closer links and simplify how we are organised so that we can be more effective.
